The Rio Grande has marked the point of entry between Mexico and the United States since 1845. Spanish for “Big River,” the Rio Grande is an indispensable source for exchanging culture and heritage between the twin cities of El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juárez.

San Carlos is the beachfront, point of entry to the distinct port city of Guaymas. Known for its exceptional clarity and warmth of its water. San Carlos lies on the Gulf of California or as some refer to this exquisite body of water, the “Sea of Cortez.”

Adjacent to the beach of this extreme southeastern city there once was a lighthouse, named “Faro de Ciudad Madero.” This stood as a guide to approaching ships as the point of entry to Ciudad Madero. This city stands proudly, on the Gulf of Mexico is named after the heroic, Mexican president, Francisco I. Madero.

Founded by Spain in 1554, Tampico was originally known as Tampico Alto, before gaining the formal charter from Mexico in 1824. Tampico is the Mexican Gulf's most important point of entry to this rich petroleum-producing region.
